Sociology is a fascinating subject that encourages you to think critically about the society in which you live. You will learn actively by taking part in group work and discussions. You will develop the ability to question and to make judgements. You will learn to see the world from different points of view and to examine sociological research. You will develop useful skills like analysis, evaluation and written communication skills. By the end of this course, you will have developed a theoretical and conceptual understanding of society. The skills you will acquire are valuable in many areas of employment including teaching, the police service, public relations, nursing, journalism and social work. Many subjects combine well with Sociology including Psychology, Law, Philosophy and History.
