Biology A is split into six teaching modules combined with the Practical Endorsement: Module 1: Development of practical skills in biology Module 2: Foundations in biology Module 3: Exchange and transport Module 4: Biodiversity, evolution and disease Module 5: Communication, homeostasis and energy Module 6: Genetics, evolution and ecosystems The A level Biology course will follow the OCR Biology A pathway. The specification is divided into topics, each covering different key concepts of biology. Teaching of practical skills is integrated with the theoretical topics and they are assessed through the written papers. The Practical Endorsement will also support the development of practical skills.
- Min APS 5.8 - Grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics. Grade 6 in GCSE - Biology or Grade 7s in GCSE Combined Science. - Students wanting to study subjects in the Academic Pathway must meet the minimum average points score listed below, including a Grade 5 in English, and meet the individual subject entry criteria
