Course summary

Any student with an interest in local, national and global issues. Students who want to participate in fieldwork to develop knowledge and understanding, and exceptional employability skills. A level subject content Physical geography Water and carbon cycles Hot desert systems and landscapes Coasts Glacial systems and landscapes Ecosystems under stress Hot deserts Hazards Human geography Global systems and global governance Changing places Contemporary urban environments Population and the environment Resource security Geography fieldwork investigation. A variety of teaching and learning strategies are employed to develop all students to the best of their ability. For example, independent research and learning skills are encouraged to prepare students for university.

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum grade 5 at GCSE Geography though in certain circumstances, students with equivalent grades in other subjects might be considered. Please speak to a member of the Geography department if you need further guidance in this area. Students will need to achieve at least five GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.
