This qualification will help students learn the technologies and skills relevant to the current demands of the computing and digital industry. Areas covered by this course include introductory networking, web scripting, cloud computing, graphic design, and application development, as well as introducing object-orientated programming. Upon successful completion of this qualification, students will be able to progress onto a Level 3 Computer Science & Digital Technologies course. Students can also use this qualification to develop a career in the computing, IT, and creative sectors.
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English or maths, or prior achievement at Level 2 Functional Skills in English or maths. A merit or higher at vocational Level 2 or NVQ Level 2 may be considered as a GCSE equivalent.
Assessments for this qualification are made up of a variety of portfolios and examinations.
