Course summary

Geography is the study of the Earth’s landscapes, people, places and environments. The course develops and extends the knowledge and skills required to be an active geographer. The course divides into physical and human geography but there is an increased focus on where these overlap.

Entry requirements

To study 3 or 4 Advanced Level subjects we require at least 5 grade 6 passes at GCSE.

How you'll be assessed

Physical Geography: Paper 1: Written exam 2 hours 30 minutes 40% of A level Human Geography: Paper 2: Written exam 2 hours 30 minutes 40% of A level Geography Fieldwork (Residential): Students complete an individual investigation which must include primary data collected in the field. The investigation must be based on a question or issue defined and developed by the student relating to any part of the specification content. - 20% of A level - Marked by teachers and moderated by AQA. Geography Fieldwork: (Day trips) Stratford day trip Ramsgate Beach 1/2 day trip.
