The multi-faceted nature of Art allows individuals to explore an array of processes such as drawing, painting, printmaking, photographic imagery, 3D construction, textiles, and mixed media. It is a fascinating and rewarding subject that allows you to use your imagination and creativity to produce exciting innovative pieces.
Minimum of five grade 5 – 9 GCSE’s (this should include Maths and English). We will take into account BTEC courses and GCSE results. You will need to have achieved a GCSE at grade 6 or above in English and Art before starting this challenging course and be able to demonstrate an aptitude and a keen interest in the subject.
Your work will be marked against the four Assessment Objectives - Develop - Experiment - Record - Present 60% of the course (Component 1) is a personal Investigation. This is a practical portfolio of work supported by written material. Component 2 is an externally set assignment culminating in a 15-hour practical examination.
