Course summary

A Level Graphics is the study of visual communication through the use of space, type and image. It incorporates the use of a wide range of processes and techniques with an emphasis on the use of digital software. You will develop a broad range of skills including drawing, photography, typography and digital manipulation and design using packages such as Photoshop and Illustrator. You will gain an understanding of graphic design and its principles and the ability to develop and review your ideas in the process of creating a final outcome. Lessons are taught in a specialist Graphics room with full access to computers and materials. After initial teacher-led activities, students will produce their own work in response to a brief. During this project, students work independently and receive individual tutorials.

Entry requirements

7 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including GCSE Art or Art and Design or Graphics.
