The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Applied Psychology is intended to be an Applied General qualification for post-16 learners wanting to continue their education through applied learning, and who aim to progress to higher education courses. The course covers the following areas: • Psychological Approaches and Applications • Conducting Psychological Research • Health Psychology Criminal and Forensic Psychology • Promoting Children's Psychological Development • Introduction to Psychopathology • Applied Sport Psychology The qualification is the equivalent of 1 A Level and can be combined with other BTEC courses such as Childhood Studies, Health and Social Care, Sports and Public Services.
To be eligible for this course applicants should possess 5 GCSE's at grade 4 or above including English and Maths. If you're aged 16-18 you will also require a DBS check.
