Why is that children starve in a world where we have plenty of resources? Why are rainforests being destroyed? What makes the rainforests the most rich ecosystem on earth? Where is the most hazardous place in earth to be? If these are the sorts of questions that interest you then Geography is certainly a subject that you should be considering as an option at A-Level. Finding a way to deal with such questions in a way that is sustainable is probably humanity's current biggest challenge ? and therefore a subject key to modern and evolving industries such as green technologies, city planning and transport. Geography is an extremely interesting subject. Once students have studied Geography to A-level, the interest in the world around them usually never leaves.
- Grade 4 or above in Geography is essential. Grade 5 is desireable - Students must achieve 5 or more GCSE passes. - Two of these passes must be Grade 6 or higher. - Students who have not achieved either Grade 4 or above in English and Maths will be expected to achieve this by completing a resit in the first year of study.
