Course summary
The A-level course with AQA covers both physical and human geography. In each area of study, students will consider their own attitudes and values and will develop a variety of geographical skills which they will be encouraged to use with a greater degree of independence. There are three units of study in year 12 and three units in year 13. Year 12 - Hazards - Water and carbon cycles. Focused on geographic presentation and analysis techniques. - Changing places. - Coastal systems and landscapes. Students will begin a fieldwork investigation. Year 13 - Global systems and global governance. Students complete an individual investigation where they have to collect data from the field. - Resource security The investigation is based upon a question or issue of their choice.
