Course summary

Media Products 30% (Exam) An exploration and analysis exploring how media products are used by institutions to construct different representations, and how the media audiences interpret these products. The second part of the exam uses aspects of the theoretical framework to analyse and evaluate your own cross-media productions (Practical Production). Students will produce a Blog & Vlog covering: TV, Print, and Online News reporting. Media in a digital age 40% (Exam) An exploration of how to analyse the ideas and arguments from debates about the media, these debates will be drawn from a historical perspective, the digital age and global media. Students will produce a Blog, Vlog & Podcast covering: Magazines, Radio & Film which include a focus on Hammer Film Studios, as well as the Music & Video Games Industry and TV Drama.

5 X 9-4 Grades, including Grade 9 – 4 English and Mathematics GCSE English Language & Literature 9-4

How you'll be assessed

1 Hour 45 Minute exam in June – Media Products (30%). 2 hour exam in June – Media in a digital age (40%). Preparation for case study analysis and critical evaluation. Preparation for case study analysis and application of media theory.
