Sport Science is a growing area as clubs and athletes now employ sports scientists to help them reach their potential and be at the top of their game. In order to compete, athletes need to have more than just ability, they need knowledge and understanding of what the body is capable of and how to make this happen. Sport Science is a diverse area that includes anatomy, nutrition, rehabilitation, fitness testing, fitness training, coaching and technology in sport.
Students will be expected to have five GCSEs at grade 9-4, or a Merit in a relevant vocational Level 2 Diploma (or equivalent). In addition, students will be expected to have GCSE grade 4 in English Language and a minimum of grade 3 in Mathematics.
You will complete four units through external assessments. Throughout the course, you will be continuously assessed through written assignments, projects, consultations, presentations and case studies.
