The A Level Spanish course builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills gained at GCSE. You will gain a range of transferable skills including communication, critical thinking, research skills and creativity. As well as developing your language skills, you will widen your knowledge and understanding of themes relating to the culture and societies where Spanish is spoken. Examples include technological and social changes, highlights of Spanish-speaking artistic culture, including Hispanic music and cinema as well as current issues affecting the Spanish-sp5aking world. The most successful A level linguists have always shown a commitment to and an enjoyment of the subject which extends way beyond the classroom. We encourage you to read foreign language magazines, news articles and books, participate in theatre and cinema visits, and attend lectures out of school. You will also be eligible to participate in our Exchange visit to Salamanca or organise your own study trip or work experience in a Spanishspeaking country.
