This VRQ includes the full range of routine vehicle fitting procedures. It provides essential knowledge and skills for vehicle fitters working on various vehicles in all types of garages, dealerships, and fast-fit businesses. It provides learners with the opportunity to study both the theory and practical aspects of some of the following: • Inspecting, repairing, and replacing high-performance light vehicles and motorcycle tires. • Carrying out light vehicle front wheel alignment. • Inspecting and replacing light vehicle clutches, exhaust components, suspension dampers, vehicle batteries, and braking systems. • Safe use of oxy-acetylene. • Assessing and securing a roadside situation. Learners will gain a broad knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety, agreeing on customer vehicle needs, and other skills associated with working in a garage. Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners can progress on to our Level 3 Light Vehicle Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course.
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English or maths, and/or a prior achievement at Level 1. GCSE's in Maths and English.
50% of the time workshop & 50% classroom. Written Assessments, Online Tests, and Practical Tasks.
