On this Level 2 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery, you'll cover a range of essential skills and knowledge to prepare you for work, including how to first fix flooring, roofing, frames, partitions, and stairs. You'll also explore carpentry maintenance and second-fixing operations, as well as learn how to set up and operate a circular saw. As part of the course, you'll be able to develop your functional skills in English and maths alongside your construction skills. This will help fully prepare you for a successful career in the carpentry and joinery sector.
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English or maths, and/or a prior achievement at Level 1.
Throughout this course, you'll complete a range of practical, hands-on assessments in the workshop to build up your portfolio. You'll also take some exams covering health and safety, the principles of building, and questions relating to the trade area.
