Designed for those who are looking to advance their skills and abilities in carpentry and joinery, this Level 3 Technical Diploma is ideal for anyone who has completed a Level 2 course and wants to take their knowledge and experience even further. You'll focus on several core areas including how to effectively carry out first-fix flooring and roofing, as well as second-fixing operations. You'll also explore second-fixing double doors and moldings and learn how to use fixed and transportable machinery. Once you have completed this Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry, you'll be able to advance onto further NVQs in the area or widen your skills with a higher-level course such as an HNC in Construction and the Built Environment here at The Manchester College. Learners can choose to progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester. Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship. You'll have the qualifications you need for an exciting and rewarding career as a carpenter or joiner in the construction industry, working on building sites, for housing associations, or your own business.
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English or maths, or prior achievement at Level 2 Functional Skills in English or maths. A merit or higher at vocational Level 2 or NVQ Level 2 may be considered as a GCSE equivalent.
Assessment will be through a mixture of practical task completion to required national standards, assignment completion, and online examinations.
