Course summary

You will be introduced to a variety of experiences that explore a range of photographic media, techniques, and processes. You will use sketchbooks to underpin your work where appropriate. You may wish to develop your drawing skills in order to produce storyboards, thumbnail sketches, and/or diagrams, where appropriate. You will use digital techniques to produce images. You will be taught how to evidence the four assessment objectives to be demonstrated in the context of the content and skills presented and of the importance of process as well as product.

Five GCSEs grade 4s.

How you'll be assessed

This course is broken down into two clear component parts the Personal Investigation and the Externally Set Assignment. Component 1: The Personal Investigation: This unit is made up of an extended practical project on a theme of your choice with a written element of between 1000-3000 words to support it. Component 2: The Externally Set Assignment: You will be given a paper in which you can select one theme and complete your own response from this. There will be a 15-hour controlled assessment at the end of this project where you need to produce a piece of work under exam conditions.
