A Level 3D Art is a practical and exciting subject aimed at producing artwork which is a personal response to a wide variety of ideas, observations and experiences. It is about learning how to work with a range of techniques and materials including photography, drawing, painting, and, of course, a wide range of 3D materials including card, clay, wire, paper, mixed media, to name but a few. You will develop skills in drawing, photography and painting to begin with and will also be taught to manipulate and develop your ideas using 3D materials. You will gain skills to research artists and use their techniques to build on what you already have learnt. You will also learn how to experiment with materials and review your ideas before producing substantial pieces of artwork. Lessons are in dedicated art rooms and are taught by specialist art teachers. After initial teacher-led activities, students will produce their own projects, in which they will learn new skills and work to their strengths.
