Understanding these laws allow us to design and develop new technologies which improve our daily lives. The course appeals to students who enjoy a challenge, who are confident in their maths skills, and those who like to see the bigger scientific picture and make links to other sciences. The course begins by building on knowledge learnt at GCSE and progresses onto contemporary topics such as Medical physics and the existence of dark matter and energy. In the modern world, an understanding of Physics empowers you to form educated opinions about current issues such as global warming, climate change, alternative energy, nuclear power and treatment of nuclear waste.
