To ensure that the learning is enjoyable and enhances the candidates' enthusiasm for Chemistry, the A level specification has been tailored to follow on from Chemistry or Combined Sciences at GCSE and will build on knowledge, understanding and skills to provide a pathway to further study. The A level is divided into six separately taught units. In addition there will be a separate endorsement of practical skills for A level Chemistry.
The minimum entry requirement is Grade 5 in English and Mathematics plus 4 Grade 5 GCSEs. In addition a minimum Grade 6 is required to study this subject.
