• Entry to the Sixth Form is based on meeting the standard entry requirements. These include the passing of Maths and English Language at a grade 4. • In addition to this we use a calculation called Attainment 8 to work out a score for students to indicate their suitability for each pathway. This score is generated by combining a students’ best 8 subject grades, counting English and Maths twice and including a minimum of three Ebacc subjects; Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Core & Additional Science, Computer Science, History, Geography, French, Spanish and German. For Waingels students this score will be included in any reports home. • Vocational Pathway (selecting only Vocational Courses): 40 (Average Grade 4) • A grade 4 in English Language or Literature. No previous Health & Social Care background is required however they will need at least a Level 2 Pass if the student studied BTEC Health and Social Care for GCSE, their grade will be a good indicator of success on this Vocational course.
Two 1hr 30min written exams. Both exam units are sat in year 1 of the course.
