A Level Fine Art is a practical but intellectually stimulating subject aimed at producing artwork which is a personal response to a wide variety of ideas, observations and experiences. It is about learning how to work with a range of techniques and materials including photography, drawing, painting, 3D, and all forms of image making. You will have the opportunity to specialise in Art Textiles if desired. To begin with you will develop skills in drawing, photography and painting. You will also gain skills to research artists and develop ideas. You will learn how to experiment with materials and review your ideas before producing substantial pieces of artwork. Lessons are in dedicated art rooms and are taught by specialist art teachers. After initial teacher-led activities, students will produce their own projects, in which they will learn new skills and work to their strengths. At this stage, students will work independently and receive individual tutorials.
