A-level Business allows students to use an enquiring, critical and thoughtful approach to the study of business, to understand that business behaviour can be studied from a range of perspectives. Students are introduced to business in Themes 1 and 2 (Marketing & Finance) through building knowledge of core business concepts and applying them to business contexts to develop a broad understanding of how businesses work. This A Level allows students to gain a real life perspective of businesses in areas such as calculating cashflow, profits and understanding how appropriate sources of finance are vital to allow the business to be successful. Another element delves into the world of marketing and how balancing these allows for business owners to trade with less risk. What is involved? Students will develop an understanding of meeting customer needs, the market, marketing mix and strategy, and managing people, entrepreneurs and leaders. Alongside this students will gain knowledge of raising finance, financial planning, managing finance, resource management, and external influences. In the final year of study, the course focuses on trading globally and accounting techniques.
