This course is for learners who are interested in learning about the health and social care sector as part of a balanced study programme. It is equivalent in size to one A Level. This course provides a broad basis of study of the health and social care sector. You will study four units over the two year course: Human Lifespan Development (Examination), Working in Health and Social Care (Examination), Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs (Coursework) and Physiological Disorders and their Care (Coursework).
To take three subjects at Post-16 you will need to have achieved 5-7 GCSEs at Grade 4/5 or above including Maths and English. To take four subjects at Post-16 you will need to have achieved 6 GCSEs at Grade 6 or above including Maths and English. You will be expected to have achieved at least a Grade 5 at GCSE for every subject you take at A Level.
Examinations - all learners take the same time in Jan and / or June depending on units. Students can have one resit attempt.
