Course summary

Biology is the study of the natural world. The A Level course includes the study of large mammals like ourselves down to our very own microscopic DNA. We focus on understanding how animals and other organisms function, how we evolved and the things that can make us sick or improve our health. We look at the natural environment, the cycles which occur there, how humans can interact with habitats in a sustainable way and the importance of conservation. Through practical work you will see what different organs look like internally, how fish breathe and the antimicrobial properties of different plants to name a few.
