
HSK Level 4. Please note that this is not an A level. This course is intended for those who have studied Mandarin at GCSE and want to continue to study of the subject alongside their 3 other A level subjects. There is a minimum requirement of a grade 6 at GCSE Mandarin to enter onto this course. The HSK (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì) assesses non-native Chinese speakers’ abilities in using Mandarin Chinese in their daily, academic, and professional lives. It is intended for students who have mastered around 1,200 commonly used words and related grammar patterns. Achieving HSK4 demonstrates conversational fluency. It’s equivalent to a CEFR B2 certificate in language proficiency. Chinese for HSK4 includes: *424 new HSK4 vocabularies *Detailed explanation on about 96 key words and grammar points *In-depth study of the reading and listening materials from Official Examination Paper of HSK Level 4 At the end of the course, you will be able to converse in Chinese on a wide range of topics and are able to communicate fluently with native Chinese speakers. The following are the topics to be covered in the course: 1. Transportation 2. Job and economics 3. Personality and emotions 4. Health and entertainment 5. Communication and life 6. Education and success The HSK4 test consists 3 sections: 1. Listening Section: This part evaluates your ability to understand spoken Chinese. It includes 45 listening questions and lasts for 30 minutes. 2. Reading Section: In this section, you’ll answer 40 reading comprehension questions. It lasts about 40 minutes. 3. Writing Section: The writing component has 15 questions and lasts approximately 25 minutes. 5 lessons over the fortnight are assigned to this course.
