The A Level Biology course builds on concepts and skills that have been developed throughout GCSE. The course is exciting, relevant and challenging. It presents essential principles in contexts that students will find interesting and emphasises the way in which scientists work and the contributions of science to modern society. Course content The course consists of 6 topics • Module 1: Development of practical skills in Biology • Module 2: Foundations in Biology • Module 3: Exchange and transport • Module 4: Biodiversity, evolution and disease • Module 5: Communication, homeostasis and energy • Module 6: Genetics, evolution and ecosystems
A 66 or above in GCSE Science, and a grade 6 in GCSE Maths. For triple award students, one 6 must be in the subject to be studied at A level.
