Extensive research into the Global and European economies will be required. The following content will be studied:- Economic methodology and problems, Individual decisions, Price determination, Production costs and revenue, Competition, Labour market, Distribution of wealth poverty and inequality, market failure and government intervention, the national and international economy, Macroeconomic performance, Financial markets and monetary policy, Fiscal policy and supply-side policies. Your teacher(s) will be key in explaining the complex theories and ensuring the understanding of the varied impacts of different factors, and the inter-connectivity of domestic and global economies. Students will be expected to work independently, especially in research tasks. Homework will be set regularly to enable students to hone exam writing skills, and ensure they are keeping up to date with current economic trends and issues. Access to high profile business, economists at the Sixth Form Centre, and trips will be crucial to deep understanding.
