Course summary

Practical skills Foundation of Physics Forces and motions Electrons, waves and photons Newtonian world and astrophysics Particles and medical physics Practical skills are an essential aspect of Physics, and are developed throughout Sixth Form. They are assessed in the written examination papers, testing the knowledge and understanding, as well as the ability to apply it to unfamiliar situations. Practical activities will be recorded in students’ lab books, and assessed, towards them achieving a ‘Pass’ for the practical endorsement.

Entry requirements

Grade 7 in Physics or 7-6 in Combined Science, and Grade 7 in Maths. Studying A-Level Maths would be a significant advantage.
