Studying A Level Physical Education will give you a great insight into the world of sports performance. You will develop a wide ranging knowledge into the how and why of physical activity and sport and also you will perform a sport through the non-exam assessment component. Through the combination of physical performance and academic challenge you will learn the reasons why we do things, why some people outperform others, mentally and physically. You will also delve into the ethical considerations behind the use of drugs and also the influence that modern technology is having in and on physical activity and sport.
If you wish to take the course you should ideally have successfully completed the GCSE course, preferably with at least a grade 6 on the theoretical aspect. It is not a prerequisite that you should have taken GCSE PE.
