Course summary

Physics is the study of the properties of matter and energy. Students will study a range of topics including particles, waves, mechanics, electricity, fields, nuclear physics, astrophysics, medical physics, engineering and turning points. Physics is a popular A-level and allows further study of physics, computer science, engineering and architecture.

Entry requirements

Our admission requirement is a minimum of five GCSEs graded 4 and above, including English and Mathematics. In addition, students will normally be expected to obtain a grade of 6 or higher in their chosen subjects. The option of taking a subject at A Level without a GCSE or equivalent level qualification can be discussed on an individual basis.

How you'll be assessed

There are three written exams including a range of questions from short and long answer questions, calculations and practical based questions.
