At Bridgewater Sixth Form we take a holistic approach to the Business Studies subject, demonstrating the interrelated nature of business using business models, theories and techniques to support analysis of contemporary business issues and situations to provide a dynamic specification. The content is designed to engage students through topics and contemporary developments that are relevant in today’s society such as Digital Technology and Business Ethics, and Globalisation.
Our admission requirement is a minimum of five GCSEs graded 4 and above, including English and Mathematics. In addition, students will normally be expected to obtain a grade of 6 or higher in their chosen subjects. The option of taking a subject at A Level without a GCSE or equivalent level qualification can be discussed on an individual basis.
There are three exams at the end of Year 13. The first year includes those topics as listed for the AS course content. During the second year, students will study the following: Analysing the strategic position of a business Choosing strategic direction Strategic methods How to manage strategic change.
