Studying Business will help you to develop a critical understanding of organisations and the markets they serve. You will develop an appreciation that business behaviour can be influenced by different stakeholders such as consumers, competitors and government. The course will help you to acquire a range of skills including decision-making and problem-solving in the context of real business situations. If you have any interest in how businesses are run, are a budding entrepreneur or have a knack for finance then this is the right course for you. The Economics and Business department at Whitgift is made up of teachers who have different backgrounds in the business world (such as HSBC, Deloitte and Procter & Gamble), which adds real context to lessons and makes the learning applicable to the real world.
Our standard Sixth Form offer for A levels or IB is a total of 62 GCSE points from nine subjects, which is calculated by adding up all grades 6, 7, 8 and 9. (The minimum therefore is eight grade 7's and one grade 6, or equivalent.)
