If you are curious about the world and like solving problems creatively, then you will enjoy A-Level Chemistry. Chemistry A-Level is a mixture of practical and written work, developing an enjoyment and understanding of chemistry together with providing the skills needed to study science at higher levels.
The qualification builds on the knowledge and skills that you gained in GCSE Combined Science or GCSE Chemistry. To take the A-Level, you should have at least a grade 6 in GCSE Chemistry or Combined Science as well as at least a grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics and English. The ability to solve problems creatively is essential in Chemistry, as is a reflective and determined attitude to learning.
The A-Level examination consists of three papers. All papers may include multiple-choice, short open, open-response, calculations and extended writing questions.
