By studying A Level Latin, students will develop: The ability to solve problems logically The ability to argue a point effectively and communicate ideas clearly and concisely The ability to analyse and evaluate different types of texts, both literary and historical A greater understanding of the roots of European languages Special features of the course: Small group specialised teaching, largely discussion based Visits where appropriate to museums Attending conferences on set texts Attending theatrical performances
Candidates are expected to achieve Grade 7 or above in subjects they wish to take at A Level, or, for subjects not previously studied, a 7 in facilitating subjects. A list of these can be found here. All candidates will take two written general papers, one Maths related and one essay writing based, a computer based thinking skills assessment and have an academic interview, with subject specific staff.
