It can be used to make sense of an increasingly complex world and provides the problem-solving tools essential to virtually all fields of endeavor. Further Mathematics is a second qualification that can be taken in addition to A level Mathematics. This aims to provide an opportunity for enthusiastic mathematicians to broaden and deepen their subject knowledge. It is most suitable for students who are thinking of studying for a Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or similar degree. It is also suitable for those students who simply love Mathematics and want to devote more time to studying wider aspects of the subject.
Candidates must gain a minimum of a Grade 5 in both English Language and Mathematics, and a further five GCSEs graded 6/7 or above.
