Further Mathematics is not for the faint-hearted, but it is one of the most prestigious qualifications to have. There is enormous satisfaction to be gained from discovering how mathematical theories and techniques have led to the development of almost everything from the Egyptian pyramids to the mobile phone.
In addition to passing our Entrance Examinations, offers are conditional on achieving a minimum of six 9-6 grades at GCSE (or equivalent), including in the subjects to be studied at A Level, where applicable: please see individual subject entry grades on pages 13-61 for subject-specific entry requirements. Girls without these grades may be admitted subject to discussion with the Senior Deputy Head, Director of Sixth Form and the Head. Most of our Sixth Formers follow a 3 A Level programme. Students who would benefit from the opportunity for further stretch and variety are supported to follow a 4 A Level programme. Alongside their 3 or 4 A Levels, girls will also have the opportunity to complete the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) which equates to half an A Level.
