Study Skills
Course summary
The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) offers our Sixth Form students the opportunity to study a topic in depth and produce a final dissertation. It is a Level 3 qualification equivalent to half an A Level. EPQ is graded, and carries UCAS points, with grades up to A* available. Its purpose is to add a further dimension to Sixth Form study and to stretch our ambitious learners. Students have a free choice of project topic, so can choose to explore a further aspect of a subject they are studying, or another subject, or choose a topic in which they have a personal interest. Letters of application will be invited in the Lent Term of L6. Universities often like to see evidence of an EPQ being completed in a topic area connected to the subject the student wishes to study at undergraduate level.
