A Level Further Mathematics is aimed at those who enjoys mathematics, as it provides a challenge and a chance to explore new and/or more sophisticated mathematical concepts. As well as being highly regarded by universities, those who take A Level Further Mathematics often find that the additional time spent studying mathematics boosts their marks in A Level Mathematics. A Level Further Mathematics is a separate A Level, taken in addition to A Level Mathematics. Three quarters of the course is Further Pure Mathematics and the remainder is Decision Mathematics. A Level Further Mathematics introduces new topics, like matrices and complex numbers, that are vital in many STEM degrees.
