Course summary

A Level English Literature equips students with the skills needed to read, interpret and analyze texts, whilst also training students to make connections between texts. Reading, discussing and writing are key. Students are not only expected to read, but also to engage critically about what they have read and to analyze techniques the writers use to communicate their ideas through their craft. During the course students will have the opportunity to study drama, prose and poetry with set texts prescribed by the exam board. Additionally, students are required to compose an independent coursework piece which showcases the analytical skills they have acquired throughout the course.

Entry requirements

At least 10 years of schooling and a good school record.
