Geography encourages students to develop a range of essential skills for Higher Education and the world of work through content which is relevant to any citizen of the planet in the 21st Century. Through exciting topics, learners will understand the nature of physical and human geography whilst unpicking the debates surrounding contemporary challenges facing the world today. Teaching begins in September (January for 18-month courses). In the first year, you will cover the following topics: • Landscape and Place • Geographical Debates The second year then builds on this foundation for the completion of the full A level. In the second year you will focus on the following: • Physical Systems • Human Interactions • Geographical Debates • Investigative Geography
Candidates should have a grade 7 at GCSE or equivalent. Overseas and UK students who have not studied Geography previously may still be considered, but they will need to have a strong interest in the subject and may be expected to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of geographical concepts and methods. Geography students will also need to demonstrate a good command of the English language.
