The OCR A Level Art and Design Specifications are designed to encourage learners to develop skills, creativity, imagination and independence based on personal experience, taught skills and critical understanding. Learners show this through their responses to a range of stimuli.
Progression from the Fifth Form (Year 11) to the Sixth Form is not automatic and will depend on a pupil finding a programme of study leading to success in at least three full A levels. The nature of the subjects offered at St Peter’s is such that at least six grade 5s at GCSE are likely to complete this programme successfully. Most pupils will have studied Art at GCSE level but this is not an essential requirement. More importantly, pupils should have genuine passion and a high degree of commitment to the subject.
Both units are internally assessed and externally moderated
