Course summary

It has been said that economics is too important to be left to economists. It is everywhere around us, affecting every aspect of our lives and shaping our choices – which is why it is so important that all of us understand economics. Economics is the study of how society can cope with scarcity of resources when faced with infinite human wants. What should our economies be producing, how should they do so efficiently and who should get the goods and services produced? Ultimately, the purpose of economics is therefore to understand and promote wellbeing in our societies.
