A level Business allows students to build the knowledge and skills to run their own business effectively and gain a fuller understanding of the modern global world of business. The first year of course gives students an overview of all the key aspects of running a business – from ownership and mission to management and leadership and from marketing and operations to financial and human resource management. The second year focuses on the strategy and tactics of the world’s most successful businesses, enabling students to reach their own judgements about their ethics, leadership and likely future success.
For entry into the Sixth Form, candidates are required to have at least six good passes at GCSE, including English and Maths.
The A level Business course is assessed through 3 examinations, each two hours long, at the end of the course. Questions range from multiple-choice and short-answer questions, to case study and essay questions.
