The Textiles course offers a unique opportunity in the curriculum for learners to identify and solve real problems, explore, and experiment with a range of textile media, processes and techniques, and work in a flexible and independent environment, with focus on personal interest and growth. The course enables students to investigate themes, colour, form, texture, pattern, and shape, through experimentation with a wide range of materials and techniques using fabric, stitch, and garment construction.
We require external students joining STAHS to achieve a minimum of grade 6 in Maths and in English, alongside the grade requirements in relevant GCSEs for their chosen A levels. Grade 7 or above in GCSE Design and Technology: Textiles or GCSE Art and Design. Candidates who have not taken the GCSE before will be considered.
