Studying English Literature at A level is a challenging and rewarding experience. The broader scope offered in comparison to GCSE means that you explore literature from across the world, as well as across the centuries, considering how authors ‘talk’ to one another across place and time.
We require external students joining STAHS to achieve a minimum of grade 6 in Maths and in English, alongside the grade requirements in relevant GCSEs for their chosen A levels. Grade 7 or above in both GCSE English Literature and GCSE English Language. Students are able to undertake A levels in both English Language and English Literature concurrently. You should consult university course requirements and accepted subject combinations if you are interested in taking both subjects.
