An A level in Classical Greek will give you an unrivalled insight into the birth of western civilisation and an opportunity to read some of the greatest works of literature ever created in the original language. Whether it be the epic poetry of Homer, the tragic drama of Sophocles, the historical narrative of Herodotus, or the philosophical dialogues of Plato, the Greek literary canon is awash with masterpieces that have stood the test of time and which continue to inspire poets, playwrights and artists in the present day.
We require external students joining STAHS to achieve a minimum of grade 6 in Maths and in English, alongside the grade requirements in relevant GCSEs for their chosen A levels. Grade 7 or above in GCSE Classical Greek.
