The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is independently researched, produced and presented by pupils and is highly valued by universities. It is a standalone qualification separately recorded on the UCAS form and it provides students with the opportunity to: choose their own topic understand and use research skills. develop and improve their own learning and performance as critical, reflective and independent students. extend their planning, research, critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, evaluation and presentation skills. The EPQ can take the format of a 5000-word essay or a practical artefact (e.g. artwork, design, performance or script) plus a 1000-word commentary.
