Course summary

Students study language in the context of four different themes. Les changements dans la société française (changes in French society) La culture politique et artistique dans les pays francophones (politics and arts in francophone countries) L'immigration et la société multiculturelle française (immigration and multiculturalism in France) L'Occupation et la Résistance (the Occupation of France and the Resistance movement) In addition, they will study a film and a work of literature.

Grade 7 at GCSE French.

How you'll be assessed

Course Content Paper 1: Listening, reading and translation. (Exam Thr 50mins, 40%) Paper 2: Written response to works and translation. This paper draws on the study of two discrete French works either two literary texts, or one literary text and one film. (Exam: 2hrs 40mins, 30%) Paper 3: Speaking. Internally conducted and exterally assessed. Two tasks- discussion on a theme and presentation and discussion on a research project. (Exam 30%)
