Economics is a part of everyday life. The working of the economy and the economic decisions made by the world’s politicians affect us all. The impact of Brexit, student finance, COVID-19, unemployment, poverty and the development of a United Europe, are all elements of Economics. What skills or background information will be needed? Economists come from a variety of different backgrounds. The study of History or Geography at GCSE will be useful but is not essential. You need to be a thinker, enjoy discussion and be able to write well.
